Architectural solution - DESIGN EXERCISE 3
The Design idea was mainly influence by the idea of erosion by water and sand particles in the air. As you can see in the images above, this process leaves elements expose to their true form and how it leaves gaps and cracks in between the soil layers.
And I wanted the center to demonstrate the true nature of its construction and the structural system exposed.
Another concept is what the idea of community means. A community is a collective people with similar characteristics, such as interests, believes or ethnics. A community stands for the right to be accepted. And when one consider oneself as being part of a community, one is expected to behave in an appropriate manner without having told. The design tries to support this idea by having very open plans, and using glass walls for transparency. I hope in this case that walls should not define how people behave in the space but encourage what is and what is not appropriate. The spaces lack the pre-defined program and it is up to how these spaces are being utilize that give its functional purpose.

Art Gallery - The Design
With this design I was trying to make the connection between Art and Architecture. And connecting it through these four symbols. These symbols that represtns the four elements, The Earth, The Air, The Fire and The Water. To my understanding these symbols represents the making of our bodies and that our bodies are the fundamental study of art. The earth, the solid, the bones, the walls that support the rooms. The Air, the openings, the windows, the voids. The Fire, the heat, the temperature, the light. The Water, the movement, the flow.
